Join us this Saturday at Weygandt Wines from 1PM until 4PM as we host a tasting of delicious Barberas and Dolcettos from Italy – Piedmont’s so-called “little” wines.
Both Dolcetto and Barbera originate in Italy’s Piedmont region. And while sometimes overshadowed by its powerful Nebbiolo-based wines (Barolo and Barbaresco) Dolcetto and Barbera nevertheless produce distinctive and incredibly versatile wines in their own right.
Dolcetto produces ruby-purple colored wines with rich cherry and bitter-cherry fruit character, firm acidity, and soft tannins. Barbera produces wines of ripe plum and cherry fruit character with spice notes, and fine natural acidity. The Lineup:
